Our Story!


The idea sparked in 2020, to develop an RTD (ready-to-drink) that appeals to fun loving Kiwi students looking to escape the nasty sugar hangovers. 

Dunedin, renowned as New Zealand's student hub and the epicenter of the nation's drinking culture, was the ideal city to kickstart the Fizzliss journey. The objective? To create the ultimate RTD for Kiwi students who revel in the party spirit and seek to avoid the drawbacks of traditional fizzy RTDs (bloating, burping and indigestion) . Originating amidst the vibrant atmosphere of Dunedin’s Castle Street, Fizzliss is rapidly increasing in availability across NZ, now stocked in 200+ stores. 

Our journey to date has involved complete transparency with our consumers. The branding and flavour portfolio of Fizzliss is forever evolving, as we aggressively seek feedback and response from our loyal consumers.

Our team has tested numerous flavour combinations and studied the desire for health conscientious drinking habits among Gen Z’ers, and we continue to innovate and adapt our products to align with this rapidly growing market.

What was once a garage project in a cold, beaten, old flat of the South Island is now poised to expand internationally.

At Fizzliss, we pride ourselves on crafting beverages that are delicious and convenient, catering to the preferences of Gen Z in New Zealand (and abroad). 

Born from an idea conceived within the university setting, Fizzliss is a product designed by us, for us. As members of the target market ourselves, we understand the demands and preferences of older Gen Z’ers (18+ NZ; 21+ US) who seek the perfect balance between convenience and health in their RTD options. 

Fizzliss offers a refreshing alternative to traditional carbonated beverages. Packaged conveniently in cans to encourage more frequent consumption, Fizzliss is perfect for the grab-and-go attitude of students. With a focus on minimising issues generally associated with traditional RTDs (bloating, burping, and indigestion), Fizzliss is a low-sugar, low-calorie alternative that resonates with our target consumers.

As our Fizzliss consumer base expands, our team remains committed to incorporating consumer feedback, implementing necessary changes to better cater to our target market.

Creating delicious and simple low sugar and low calorie RTDs is one thing, but Fizzliss has a purpose which goes beyond giving kiwis the perfect bevvy. At Fizzliss, we dislike CO2 (fizziness) in RTDs so much, that we are donating 10% of profits towards reducing the CO2 (carbon dioxide) in our atmosphere. CO2 emissions have increased significantly in the last 20 years, reaching a record high of 36.7 billion metric tonnes of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere in 2019. CO2 emissions are responsible for more than 75% of the total greenhouse gas emissions and stays in our atmosphere for much longer than other greenhouse gases.

Greenhouse gases are causing climate change by trapping heat in our atmosphere. As a result, we are seeing rises in the earths temperature which is causing life threatening changes to the environment. 10% of our profits will go towards planting trees for the restoration process of our atmosphere, as well as reducing the carbon emission issue within NZ, before it is too late. Max and Zac being young enthusiasts want to influence others to make a change to their carbon habits.
